| Homeless World Cup | Find Yourself |

The World Cup is such a big event for many around the world. It brings out the best and the worst in people! For me personally, I can be full of joy or full of tears. We can't tell what might happen next but we do know how these teams got there. That would be by hard work! For this specific World Cup, hard work is not only on the pitch but also off the pitch. Many of these individuals are kicking addictions and really starting to find a sense of Self Identity. The Homeless World Cup gives individuals a chance to represent their countries and also themselves, showing that there is a way out of this brutal lifestyle.

Skid Row Tuesdays \ Not Taco Tuesdays

I found this documentary while browsing the web earlier this week, and it touched my heart to see what these ordinary people are doing. In one of the last blogs, I spoke about being the difference. Not just saying that you want to help, but actually getting out there and doing something. I believe watching this documentary will really motivate those who are caught between the sides. One side saying "Yes" and the other side saying "No". This isn't a bad thing, as we see, there are a lot of things that can go wrong while out there on the streets trying to help people. Especially, if you have never dealt with someone like that, it can seem to be a bit insane to spend time on these people. Insane or not, it needs to be done. We need to get out there and try to help as best as we can. The streets of Los Angeles are flooded with people who don't have a place to stay, and it will only get worse! We can change this though! With a great amount of awareness and action, lives can be transformed into what they originally were suppose to be, LEADERS!

- Be The Difference - Homeless In Los Angeles

Just the thought of homeless people brings total sadness to my heart. As I drive the streets of Los Angeles, I witness some of the most devastating living situations. To complain about my bed springs not being in order or the leakage that comes from my ceiling makes me think of how good I have it. This can actually pertain to most of us reading this Blog. We say we are “Blessed”, but I don’t think most understand what that word really means. To be “Blessed”, means that you are favored, fortunate, lucky, privileged, enviable, and happy. Be blessing requires you to be grateful for what you have now. The roof that is over your head, the food that sits in your stomach, and the clothes that we wear gives us the title of “Blessed”. For those who don’t know this, Los Angeles is the 3rd largest homeless city in the world! Since 2013, there has been a 16% increase in the number of homeless men, women, and children. This increase would give us a total of 41,174 homeless people in the city of Los Angeles. This issue is being fought on a continuous basis. My question is, were we stand today in our lives, what can we do to help fight this battle? How can we bring awareness to others about this issue? Is using the phrase “I want to make a difference in society” overused? Let’s not just say it, but let’s act upon it and get out there and do something. It takes US to make a difference. We all play our part in this battle, but if one person slacks, then we all tend to slack. I ask that you put yourself in their shoes and take their situation upon yourself. I can guarantee that would motivate you to push for this issue to be resolved.

\\ Hotter Then A Jalapeno //

What brilliance we have been seeing from Mexico's National team star! He has shown that he can score on both sides of the spectrum, playing with the Los Angeles Galaxy and with Mexico's National team. Giovani dos Santos has played a major role in the line up for Los Angeles. Though Los Angeles have been struggling a bit to reach the top, Gio has managed to score 14 goals and give 12 assists in 26 games.

Then he comes in for Mexico, and puts them up on the scoreboard since scoring his last goal in July. I mean, what can you do? He's hotter then a jalapeno right now! We are hoping he keeps producing like this for Sunday's game versus Houston Dynamo. Los Angeles really need those 3 points to stay out of the cold zone of playoffs. Gio, if your reading this... Please show up for us!

Smiles for Syria

It's really amazing to see how the "Beautiful Game" can make people feel like they are welcomed and at home. For these Syrian refugees, it gave them a sense of hope for what they had to deal with. This act of kindness really proves to us that this game we all love, isn't just about winning, but about bringing people together. Hats off to Toronto FC for really going above and beyond to help these people. Smiles tell a story in it self, and by the smiles from this video, there are PLENTY of stories to be told.

Open Your Eyes | Open Your Heart | Let's Help

I just wanted to take a different approach today on this Blog. Something that isn’t so related to the major games going on this weekend, or the latest news. Homelessness. What is Homelessness? Homeless can be someone without an address, down-and-out, street people, and drifters. This is all according to the definition on Google. But, when I look at these individuals, I see PEOPLE. Yeah, they may not have the best clothes or the best hygiene, but they are people. How many times have you walked past a homeless person and just ignored the fact that they are out there on the streets at all times of the day, cold, tired, and hungry. I am guilty of it, but when I recognized this I started to take a different approach on how I viewed it all. I saw them as people, and to us, 'People Matter'. Your age and gender do not matter, we can all be put out on the streets, and be in the same position.

Restless Referees

As I refereed a kid's game this week, I got a clear picture of what it feels like to be put in a position were everyone hates you for that 10 seconds. Yes, it was only 10 seconds but it felt like an eternity. The yelling started from the coach and ended with the parents because I didn't call the handball. Well guess what! These kids are 8 years old and if I start calling things out then the game will constantly be stopped. It's my decision, deal with it! So I felt like this week I should post a video on some of the most controversial calls within the MLS. Check it out!

Lovedaboy to Lovedamiddle || Sebastian Lletget

Despite the disappointing loss on Sunday to Seattle, Los Angeles are starting to notice a change in roles with Sebastian Lletget. Formerly known as the winger or some would say "cheeky winger", Sebastian Lletget is starting to take up the role of a central midfielder. Originally, when Lletget arrived to Los Angeles, he was put on the left wing until the departure of Nigel de Jong. Since his shift of position, Lletget is making real progress with four assists in five games, and even connection with players around him! Lletget told LAGalaxy.com in a recent interview, "The dynamic is different, but I love it. It feels a bit more natural to me than other positions because I come in more contact with the ball." Well we can see that he fits the position well! I personally like him playing that role, but I also like the winger role as well cause we do get to see that "cheeky" side of him. I can say this for everyone, we definitely like to see some flare within the game. It brings flavor and excitement for all the fans that are watching. He may even have to play keeper one game like Mike Magee did back in 2011 while playing the San Jose Earthquakes. Wouldn’t that be exciting?

|| Dos a Cero || The Rivalry Continues

"Dos a Cero" will be coming back soon! It's such an exciting match to watch because of the long history that the United States and Mexico have. The rivalry started back in 1934! The United States and Mexico have met 66 times now, but Mexico has still managed to hold on to the lead between the rivalry. In 1934, the first match was held between these two teams in Italy for the last spot in the 1934 World Cup. The United States were able to pull off a win but the following games, Mexico consistently beat the United States. From personal experience, win or lose, it will be a fight between the two countries. Soccer is apart of the Mexican culture, not so much for the United States. It has been growing as a popular sport within the States in the last few years. We see the development in the United States and how many players are moving abroad to play with top notch teams! Just the other day, it was reported that 6 of the U.S. national team players found the back of the net for their team. To name a few, we have Michael Bradley, Christian Pulisic, and Sacha Kljestan, along with a few others. The way I see it, the United States will be a top ranked team in a matter of years!

This time though, it wont be at Azteca Stadium, it will be held in Columbus, Ohio. Jurgen Klinsmann stated this, "Columbus is for us what Azteca Stadium is for them. It's a game where emotions will go through the roof, and we need to have our crowd behind us bringing their voice against our biggest rival. We know they will. Columbus will rock." That seriously brings chill's down my spine to hear that, imaging the roaring of the crowd and the chants. I can't wait till November 11th for this match! One thing I am curious about is if Klinsmann is going to change up the starting lineup. It seems to me this is an issue with him, we find guys who click and play extremely well with one another, then there is a huge change up leaving us to lose the game. This has been done multiple times and I know many U.S. fans are not happy with this. We can only hope he brings the best and allows for consistency in this area. The coach will coach, the players will play.

Words From A Mad Man | Jose Mourinho

I honestly kept thinking about the loss Manchester United had against Manchester City, so I wanted to dig a little deeper and here what Jose had to say! We know how blunt, entertaining, and down right mean this gentlemen can be but some of the things he had to say were quite interesting. Check it out for yourself!
